NAUVOO, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama sheriff says a man killed his son, sent a picture of it on social media and then killed himself when a deputy arrived, on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Sheriff Nick Smith told The Daily Mountain Eagle that someone called for help saying the father had sent them a picture on Facebook messenger, showing that the victim had been shot.
Smith says the father also threatened to shoot himself if law enforcement came to the house. The sheriff said a responding deputy heard a single gunshot before both bodies were found.
Authorities didn’t immediately release their names. An investigation is ongoing.
