AUBURN — Former Pinson Valley star and now Auburn starting freshman quarterback Bo Nix was named the SEC Freshman of the Week following his performance in Auburn’s thrilling come-from-behind 27-21 victory over Oregon on Saturday.
It was the largest rally for Auburn since the 2010 Iron Bowl.
Nix made his first start as a collegiate player in the national spotlight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In his debut, Nix went 13-of-31 for 177 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. He capped his steady second-half performance with a game-winning 26-yard touchdown pass to Seth Williams with nine seconds left in the game.
