CLAY — Every neighborhood needs a little positivity and one Clay resident is making that happen in Paradise Valley.
Sarita Lee has been inviting people to enjoy outdoor movie night, every other Friday, all summer. The last movie of the summer will be Friday, Aug. 23, weather permitting.
Lee and her neighbor decided to start movie night as a way to bring neighbors together after they discussed issues both of their daughters experienced with bullying.
Instead of purchasing a blow-up projector screen, Lee improvised with her husband’s white box truck. So, every other week, they set up the truck at the corner of Balboa Court and Balboa Avenue, and watch a movie.
A neighbor provides the electricity for the projector and speakers. Lee said she is grateful for everyone who has a part of making movie night happen.
“We are grateful for the Noland’s, for their electricity, for the neighbors that come, the neighborhood for being so understanding when the speakers are so loud,” said Lee.
Lee said movie night was established for Paradise Valley residents, but she said anyone is welcome. She plans to continue movie nights next summer.
