MOUNTAIN BROOK — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a man killed in a crash on Highway 280.
Christian Ghier Ruiz was pronounced dead on the scene on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019.
Ruiz, who was living in Birmingham, was the driver of a convertible Nissan 350z. The car left the roadway around 7:48 p.m., near Luckie Drive, and hit a guardrail then a tree. Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said Ruiz was ejected from the vehicle.
A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Christian Ghier Ruiz, 37, was living in Birmingham at the time of his death.
