Aaron P. Goodwin, 83, of Chalkville, returned to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.
Welcoming Goodwin into Heaven was his wife Nicki, mother Helen, father Ragan and brother Reuel Goodwin. Aaron is survived by his four children, Cindi Pannell, Greg (Pat) Goodwin, Randy (Laurie) Goodwin and Lundi (Richard) Alderson, all from the Trussville, Al area; Stepdaughters Pamela (Pat) Klinker of Louisville, KY and Joni (Brad) Bartlett of Hockley, Tx; Twelve grandchildren and Fourteen great grandchildren.
Goodwin was a life long resident of the Trussville/Clay area graduating from Hewitt Trussville High School. He was a dedicated employee of South Central Bell for over 30 years before retiring in 1991. He was also an active member of Grace Community Church Deerfoot, serving in multiple areas including Men’s Fellowship, Seniors Ministry and the Mature Adult Sunday School Class. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and spending as much time as possible with his family. He was always a hard worker up until the day he became ill. What Goodwin would love for everyone to know the most is how much he loved the Lord.
He was a great husband, father, grand father and servant until the end.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15th at Jefferson memorial Funeral Home in Trussville from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service for Aaron will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 16 at Jefferson Memorial Chapel. Pastor Thad Blount is officiating. Flowers are welcome; contributions may be sent to Missions at Grace Community Church @ Deerfoot in memory of Aaron Goodwin.
