ARGO — The city of Argo hosted National Night Out on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019. St. Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray and other members of the sheriff’s office were on hand to meet and greet residents.
According to Mayor Betty Bradley, the purpose was to bring first responders together with members of the community.
“A special thanks to Billy Murray and St Clair County Sheriff’s department for taking time out of their busy schedule to attend Argo’s National Night Out,” Bradley said on Facebook. “This is America’s night out against crime — a time when neighbors and law enforcement come together to take a stand against crime.”
The Argo Teen Council organized the event. There were first responder vehicles, community groups, vendors and a food truck.
Bradley said she hopes the event grows every year.
