TUSCALOOSA — More than 220 University of Alabama students are taking part in a cooperative education program and five of those students are from Trussville.
UA’s Cooperative Education program allows students to receive “hands-on, innovative and advanced educational experiences with dozens of companies and organizations across the United States,” according to the university.
The University of Alabama sent a press release announcing which students from Trussville were selected from the program. Joshua White will be working at Alabama Power, Jason Collins will be working at Deshazo, Zane Parkerson will be working at Evonik, Joshua Walton will be working at Quincy Compressor, and Joseph Cole will be working at Rheem Water Heaters.
The students will participate in the program in the fall 2019 semester. They will alternate periods of full-time study with periods of full-time employment. During co-op, the students will earn salaries and may receive benefits packages.
