BIRMINGHAM — As construction continues in downtown Birmingham for Interstate Improvements, the Alabama Department of Transportation says drivers should expect delays.
The following closures will take place, weather permitting, as follows:
- The Red Mountain Expressway NB ramp to 59/20 NB will not close Friday, Aug. 9.
- The 25th Street N and 31st Street N ramps onto 59/20 NB will not close Friday, Aug. 9.
- Carraway Blvd. will remain closed through Saturday, Aug. 10, from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. for bridge work.
Detour signs will be in place where necessary. Please keep in mind that all construction plans can change due to weather and other factors. As always, use caution and obey the posted speed limits.
