TRUSSVILLE — A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a man on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019.
The crash happened on Interstate 59 Northbound around mile marker 142, which is mid-way between the I-459 junction and the Chalkville Mountain Road exit. The car flipped several times and landed in the southbound lane.
Trussville PD Detective Ben Short said the driver of the car ejected from the vehicle. He was taken to St. Vincent’s East where he was pronounced dead. The 21-year-old man has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.
Police advise drivers to use an alternate route in the area while crews clear the roadway. If you are unable to avoid the area, use extreme caution.
