JEFFERSON COUNTY — Three shooting-related deaths took place in Jefferson County over the weekend.

According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Demarcus Jerome Atkinson Jr., 21, was found shot inside a vehicle in the 400 block of Fairfax Drive in Fairfield. Atkinson, a Birmingham native, was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:27 p.m.
The coroner’s office said Jimeria Dunshae Howard, 28, arrived at UAB Hospital’s emergency department after being shot. Howard was pronounced dead at UAB ER at 11:37 p.m. The shooting occurred on 30th Street South in Birmingham at approximately 11:03 p.m.
According to the coroner’s office, at around 3:25 p.m., Brittney Lashawn Junious, 32, was shot while at an address on Warner Street in Birmingham. Junious was transported to UAB and was pronounced dead on Aug. 4 at 3:25 p.m.
The three homicides are being investigated by the respective municipalities.
