HOOVER — A teen was found in a Galleria store suffering from a gunshot wound Saturday, Aug. 3.
According to law enforcement, Hoover Police responded to the North Parking deck on a report of shots fired at 4 p.m.
Witnesses stated that two groups of teenage males were fighting when one of the males produced a handgun and fired a shot, according to officials.
Police said both groups fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement. At 4:20 p.m., officers located a 15-year-old male inside Von Maur suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip. He was treated by Hoover Fire-medics and later transported to Children’s Hospital by private vehicle with a non-life threatening injury. No other injuries have been reported.
There are no suspects in custody at this time. The suspected shooter was last seen leaving in a red SUV. If anyone has any information concerning that case, please contact Sgt.
