ST. CLAIR COUNTY — The Alabama Department of Transportation announced planned lane closures in St. Clair County starting on Monday, Aug. 5.
Weather permitting, crews will close a southbound lane of Interstate 59, starting at 8 a.m., and will reopen the lane by 7 p.m. The closures will take place every day through Saturday, Aug. 19. The closures are for Striping and Grassing Operations and will be in various locations between the Ashville exit (Milepost 166) and the St. Clair Springs exit (Milepost 156).
In the northbound lanes, the same closures will take place each day from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area.
