BIRMINGHAM — Detectives with the Birmingham Police Department are asking the public for information after a person was shot to death on Saturday, July 27.
Shot Spotter alerted authorities to a possible shooting in the 7800 block of Sixth Avenue North, around 12:34 a.m. People nearby confirmed they heard shots fired in the area.
Officers found a person on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. The person was pronounced dead by Birmingham Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner.
No one is in custody in connection to the shooting.
