James Edward Keith, 84, of Trussville passed away on July 24th, 2019.
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
Keith was a longtime member and deacon of Roebuck Park Baptist Church and then Northpark Baptist and called upon Jesus to be his Savior and Lord of his life there. Keith is preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte, his parents Mack and Bertie Keith and his sisters Frances, Maxie, Willie, Ruby, and brother Bill.
His time serving in the United States Marine Corp played a major role in molding James into the person that everyone knew. He was a very disciplined man who loved all of his family deeply. He found success in his sales career by always doing what he told people that he would do and enjoying those that he worked for and with. As a father, his Marine background showed through in his sternness, but it was always done with love.
He was married to the love of his life for 51 years and was an incredible caregiver in her last days. He was always an encourager and a steady rock in his family. He was a fine man.
The family asks for prayers for those left behind to grieve, especially his children, Jim Keith (Laura) and Tracie Hutto (Randy), his grandchildren whom he adored Kacey Keith, Karley Keith, Connor Keith, Mary Kate Keith, Samuel Keith, Olivia Hutto, and Nick Hutto, sister Lettie Ann Poe and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Birmingham Humane Society or The Jimmie Hale Mission. Thank you, Jesus, for your promise of salvation and life eternal. May his soul Rest In Peace.
