GRAYSON VALLEY — A new car wash is coming to the Grayson Valley area in unincorporated Jefferson County.
There will be a grand opening for Raindrop Car Wash in November and the business will offer free car washes for a week.
Moore Construction is turning the old BB&T bank, off Chalkville Mountain Road, into a drive-thru car wash. The building is being expanded to make room for the automated system, which will contain a drive-thru express tunnel with brushes and high-power water jets. A free vacuum will come with every wash.
Thermond Daniels, with Moore Construction, said his crew had to completely gut the bank.
“They left everything in here, even left a big flatscreen television,” said Daniels. “All they took was the money and some paperwork. Even pictures were on the wall.”
Daniels said the car wash is equipped with a track to pull cars through. After the driver pays, they will pull up to the door to allow the tracks to move their car through the building. There will be a full staff during operation hours and a vacuum center at the front of the building.
