Mary Francis Sarno, 78, of Birmingham passed away on July 20, 2019.
Sarno was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Pinson. She was a devoted Christian and enjoyed drawing closer to her Lord and Savior by reading her Bible. She liked traveling to the beach and gardening. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sarno was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Edward R. Sarno and her parents, Ed Mac and Howell Philpot. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Webb (Ledell), Melanie Wiggins (Mark) and Susan Wester (Donnie); grandchildren, Corey Webb (Kelly), Meghan Seno (Gil), Suzanne DuBose (Mark), Brandon Wiggins (Tiffany), Michael Wiggins, Jordan Wiggins, Mara Wester; great grandchildren, Collin, Dillon, Skylar, Makayla, Katherine, Colton and Cooper; her three brothers, Lawrence Philpot, Charles Philpot (Susie) and Don Philpot (Sherri); sister, Carolyn Reed.
A celebration of Sarno’s life will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church in Pinson at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Billy Evans is officiating.
