TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City School system announced Dr. Lisa Berry was named Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction on Thursday, July 18.
Berry has been the Principal of Hewitt-Trussville Middle School since August 2013. Berry has also served as Assistant Principal of both Hewitt-Trussville High School and Hewitt-Trussville Middle School.
Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill said Berry’s experience will be a positive for the school system.
“Dr. Berry will enhance our strong administrative team with her expertise in administration, curriculum, test score analysis, and social/emotional learning,” Neill said. “Dr. Berry is creative and innovative and I look forward to her new ideas and strategies to take us to the next level of excellence in all K-12 programs”.
Berry said she is grateful for the opportunity.

“I look forward to building on the wonderful work already in progress, reconnecting with previous colleagues I have worked with in the past, forging new relationships, and supporting our teachers in the outstanding work they do daily to improve teaching and learning,” Berry said. “Trussville City Schools has a history of strong academic programs and I am honored to have the opportunity to contribute and lead this work.”
Berry will remain at Hewitt-Trussville Middle School until the new Hewitt-Trussville Middle School principal is named and will also assist in the transition for the start of the 2019-20 school year.
