The Alabama Department of Transportation is currently developing a maintenance contract to perform patching repairs on I-59 northbound and southbound from the Trussville area (near Deerfoot Parkway) to near Springville.
This will also include work on the northbound exit ramp at Deerfoot Parkway. Invitations to bid were sent to prospective contractors recently with bids due next week. Construction will begin shortly after bids are approved by ALDOT.
When the repairwork is underway motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area.
