BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department identified a woman killed in a triple shooting in Center Point’s jurisdiction.
Shaneia Causewell, of Birmingham, was killed in the shooting that happened on Monday, July 15, 2019, around 9:30 p.m.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at 1776 Sixth Way NW, in the East Pinson Valley community in Birmingham. Three shooting victims had already been taken to area hospitals by private vehicles.
On July 16, the Birmingham Police Department sent out a release saying they have since learned the homicide occurred in the Center Point jurisdiction. They have now turned over the investigation to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives with Birmingham said they discovered an altercation began when unwelcomed guests arrived at the home of the woman who was shot and killed. Witnesses said the people were asked to leave but they opened fire. The three shooting victims are related.
