TALLADEGA — The Talladega Transformation project reached another milestone Wednesday, July 10.
“The centerpiece of what Transformation is all about is the large building,” said Director of Public Relations and Consumer Marketing Russell Branham during a press conference. “The big open-air club you see straight in front of you (in the infield).”
Shortly after, the press conference construction crews fit the last piece of steel framing into the structure.
The plan is to have two garages that will flank each side of the open-air club, with the top 22 drivers housing their vehicles there.
Eleven cars will be featured on one side, and eleven vehicles will be featured on the other.
“It is something that is really unique,” said Branham. “There is nowhere else in motor-sports that you will be able to find something like this. It is sort of our centerpiece.”
The Transformation is a $50 million infield redevelopment venture that will offer new attractions and enhanced amenities for fans, sponsors, teams and stakeholders to the famous and historic Talladega infield.
Some of the new features will include an interactive garage fan zone experience, Wi-Fi enabled garage fan zone experience, open-air club with up-close garage viewing, garage suites, new pit road club, new Gatorade victory lane, exclusive social areas, premium RV camping with power and water hook-ups, infield shower trailers, a new Turn 3 oversized vehicle tunnel that will be open 24 hours a day, and food and beverage stands.
