BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death of a man after a domestic incident.
Officers were called to the 4400 block of 46th Street North at 12:33 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019. They found a person unresponsive in a bedroom.
The Jefferson County Coroner was called to the scene and pronounced the man dead. He was identified as Melvin Mobley, 48, of Birmingham.
Detectives concluded that Mobley was killed during an assault following a domestic altercation with another person. That person was taken into custody but has not been formally charged.
