BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner said a body was found on Sunday, June 2, 2019, near the VA Clinic in Birmingham, has been identified.
Evan Robert Underwood, 30, from Cordova in Walker County, died when he fell from the parking deck of the clinic.
Coroner Bill Yates identified Underwood using fingerprints. The cause of death was from blunt injuries. Yates said there is nothing to suggest foul play.
Yates said a VA shuttle bus driver found the body between the VA building on Seventh Avenue and 24th Street and the parking deck at 1:39 p.m. Sunday. Underwood was pronounced dead at 2:04 p.m. The manner of death has not been determined.
