BESSEMER — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was arrested after a doorbell camera caught her stealing something from someone’s porch.
Amanda Nicole Ramos, 34 is charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, trafficking in stolen identities and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators learned of the video from a porch at a home in the Morgans Run subdivision in Bessemer. They identified the woman in the video and put out a BOLO (be on the lookout). Detectives said after patrol deputies located Ramos, she was in possession of several stolen items, drugs, digital scales, drug paraphernalia and the driver’s license of other victims.
After being questioned, Ramos admitted to stealing things and told detectives, “stealing things makes me feel good,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Ramos is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $46,000. Ramos may face additional charges when other victims are identified.
