TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department executed a search warrant on Friday, May 10, 2019, after being made aware of multiple overdoses at a home on Avenue C.
The department’s SRT (Special Response Team) and the Criminal Investigations Division searched the home at 7:30 a.m. During the search, they said they found firearms, heroin, meth, cocaine and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Investigators also said the suspect, Richard Dodd, of Trussville, was using jumper cables to bypass the power meter to power his home. An investigator with Alabama Power came to the scene to assist investigators and ensure that the jumper cables were safely removed.
Dodd was arrested and detectives said he had an outstanding felony warrant with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Dodd is charged with:
Theft of Services 3rd – $10,000 bond
Tampering with Utilities – $15,000 bond
Trafficking in Stolen Identities – $20,000 bond
Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol – $50,000 bond
Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Heroin) – $30,000 bond
Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth) – $25,000 bond
Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (Cocaine) – $20,000 bond
Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – $300 bond
Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd – $300 bond
Unlawful Possession of Prescription Drugs – $300 bond
Trussville Bond Total – $170,900
In Jefferson County, Dodd’s charge has a bond of $30,000.
