MARION COUNTY — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating a deadly crash that happened early Tuesday, April 30, 2019, in North Alabama.
Morris H. Welch, 56, of Empire, was hit and killed around 5 a.m. while repairing a disabled vehicle on Interstate 22 near the 25-mile marker. State Troopers said the vehicle that hit Welch left the scene. Investigators said troopers later located the driver suspected in the crash. The driver was operating a 2019 Freightliner.
State Troopers are still investigating and have not announced if there will be charges.
