BIRMINGHAM — The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced new road closures for the removal of existing structures and for the erection of new girders.
- Single right lane closure at Carraway Blvd., southbound between 11th Avenue N and 26th Street N., from Wednesday, March 20 at 9 p.m. until Thursday, March 21 at 5 a.m., to deliver girders.
- Full closure of Carraway Blvd between 11th Avenue N and 26th Street N., Thursday, March 21 at 11 p.m. until Friday, March 22 at 5 a.m. This same closure will occur again on Friday, March 22 at 11 p.m. until Saturday, March 23 at 5 a.m. Both closures are to erect girders.
ALDOT said drivers should expect delays during the Bridge Replacement Project in downtown Birmingham. Detour signs have been placed around construction zones.
