LIPSCOMB — A dead man discovered on the roadside in Lipscomb, and concealed inside of two trash bags, on Wednesday has been identified.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as Frederick Oneal Harris, a 63-year-old black male from Center Point. The coroner’s office could confirm that the death was the result of a homicide, but was withholding information about the cause as this is part of an ongoing investigation.
The body had been deposited at Brewer Drive and Third Street and was discovered by a Fed Ex employee who was driving by.
According to authorities, an investigation has been opened into the matter and is being conducted by The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
