BIRMINGHAM — Over 10 crashes have been reported on interstates in the metro Birmingham area.
I-459 northbound at Liberty Park is closed due to ice and a wreck. Delays are to be expected on all interstates in the metro area Tuesday morning.
Icy patches on roadways and difficult visibility due to frozen fog are causing multiple wrecks on Birmingham area interstates Tuesday morning. Crashes have occurred on I-59/20, I-459 and I-65.
Hazardous conditions have also been reported on Highway 280.
Temperatures will rise to the 50s by this afternoon. Please use caution when driving.
Schools in St. Clair County are on a two hour delay Tuesday.
I459 north closed due to traffic accident and icy road conditions.
Hwy 280 east and west bound report icy road conditions in the city limits.
