BIRMINGHAM — Mayor-elect Randall Woodfin is urging Birmingham citizens to engage in a “Day of Service” Sunday, culminating in an evening of prayer.
Woodfin, who is slated to be sworn into office on Tuesday, Nov. 28, said on his website that the Day of Service is intended “to instill a renewed belief in public service to our city.” While there is no centralized service event, members of the community are encouraged to take the initiative and find ways to give back. “We want this to be a time when our citizens can come together and celebrate this special time but also work together as a community,” Woodfin said.
The Day of Service will be followed by a “Prayer for the City of Birmingham” event at the city’s Boutwell Auditorium at 5:30 p.m. The event, open to all faiths, is described as an “uplifting evening of hope and prayer.”

Hope he serves well. Is educated and seems to have looked out for the kids.

I think this guy is going to walk the walk. His sweet mom also comes out to volunteer monthly with Be a Blessing Birmingham to serve the homeless at Linn Park.
