PINSON – The Jefferson County Library Association recently honored eight Library Champions during a holiday luncheon at The Florentine in Birmingham.
The luncheon was an opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievements of volunteers and community partners.
The Library Champion Award is an annual award by the Jefferson County Public Library Association, which recognizes an individual or organization that has made a significant contribution(s) to libraries and/or librarianship in Jefferson County.
One of the members of the Pinson Public Library Board, Stanley Moss, was one of this year’s recipients.
An excerpt from Moss’s nomination letter reads:
Stanley Moss has contributed to the ?success of the Pinson Public Library in ?many ways. His service to the library is ?invaluable: from serving on the library board, financially supporting our ?programming, and keeping his finger on the ?pulse of all areas of our community. He helped establish the library
board in 2011 before the library opened. He is a founding board member and currently serves as Vice-President. His vision for preserving the area’s history motivated him to create the Pinson Historical
Society. He always includes the library in whatever the Historical Society is doing in the community.
Stanley Moss is truly a one-of-a-kind person in our community and the library is so much better for being the recipient of his time and thoughtfulness.
