TRUSSVILLE – The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club has announced its October student and teacher of the month.
The student of the month (SOM) is Jacob Kerins, a senior from HTHS. Kerins has played football and soccer, and is active in his church and the community.
He recently was accepted into several colleges, but is undecided of which he will choose. He plans to major in Psychology.
Kerins selected his AP History teacher, Josh Haynes, as his teacher of the month (TOM). Haynes has taught history at HTHS for five years, and is a third generation teacher at HTHS, where his father and grandfather both taught.
Kernis said he selected Haynes because “he really prepares for his classes and has been such an encouragement to me over the years.”
Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club meets at Spare Time Entertainment at 7 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. Visit www.trussvillerotaryclub.org for more information.
