Did you know that you are uniquely special? Really…you are a great person and made like no one else. When you look in the mirror today, you need to see someone that has extraordinary value with huge potential! How can I say that about you when perhaps we have never met? Think about these truths from the Bible for just a minute:
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.
Psalm 139:13-16 (NIV)
That one passage (there are more) in God’s Word is amazing to me. It reminds us that the exact moment each of us are conceived, God knew us. Not only does God know every baby the moment their lives begin, He begins to develop them and form them in a unique miraculous way. Yes, it is obvious that life begins at conception but today it is just as important to know that God began in you at conception. He “knit” you together and you need to know that. YOU, are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Why is it so important that you live with that understanding? There are a few reasons. One is because you need to know that you have value. You have value to God, to you and to those that are around you. It puts a hop in your step and a smile on your face. Because God doesn’t make junk!
Secondly, it gives you a purpose for each day. When God made you, He made you for a purpose. David put it this way in vs. 16 “All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” Today, as you scan this article, God has a plan for your life.
Good news. You may look in the mirror and think, “I have messed up what God has made.” We could all say that to some degree or another. That is why God sent Jesus. To take our lives wherever we are and to make them more than we ever dreamed possible. A relationship with our Creator through Christ gives us that opportunity. Please take advantage of that relationship because YOU are special to Him!
