Magnolia Elementary School announces opening date

TRUSSVILLE – Magnolia Elementary School has passed a final inspection as of October 3.

Inspectors from the State of Alabama toured the school on Monday to affirm that all elements of the required inspection were to their satisfaction.

Furniture and supplies are set to be moved in to the school the week of October 7. Teachers will set up classrooms and prepare for their students’ arrival after Fall Break, and the first day of school in the new facility will be Wednesday October 12.

Trussville City Schools will host a ribbon cutting celebration on October 11 at 4 p.m. at the front entrance of the school. The school will be open for touring from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

“We are so excited Magnolia Elementary School is complete and ready to open,” TCS Superintendent Dr. Pattie Neill said. “The students on the south side of Trussville are moving into a beautiful new building in their own neighborhood. It is a great day for Trussville City Schools.”

Dr. Autumn Jeter, principal of Magnolia Elementary School, said she and the faculty and staff are overjoyed about the doors of the schools opening soon.

“Our school has operated so efficiently and effectively while housed at Paine and we’re looking forward to continuing the great teaching and learning at our new school,” Jeter said. “With Magnolia being located right there with our families, it brings upon a natural feeling of joy and excitement from everyone. We are thankful for the weeks we’ve spent here at Paine Elementary and we’re ready to smile and welcome our families to our brand new community school.”
