VESTAVIA – Just after 3 p.m. Monday Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Kreekview Apartments in an unincorporated area of Jefferson County, near Vestavia.
It was reported that three men had broken into an apartment, and were loading stolen items into a black pickup truck. The stolen property included three televisions, two laptops and a cell phone, all of which were returned to the victim.
While deputies were on the way to the scene, Vestavia Hills Police arrived on the scene and reported the suspects had fled on foot. A perimeter was established and tracking dogs were brought to the scene. One suspect was taken into custody, and the other two were not located.
The suspect in custody was identified as a 17-year-old male form Alabaster. His name will not be released because he is a minor.
