HOMEWOOD –Police in Homewood are investigating the shooting death of a 10-year-old boy at an apartment complex on Sunday night.

According to Carol Robinson, the shooting occurred at the Elevation Apartments on Lakeshore and one person is in custody.
Robinson reported that the shooting is believed to be accidental and the person in custody is another juvenile.
Sources told Robinson that the shooter was playing with a gun found by the pool when the 10-year-old walked in the room and was shot. The victim was transported to Children’s of Alabama where he was pronounced dead.
