From The Trussville Tribune Staff Reports
TRUSSVILLE – Business owners in downtown Trussville have formed the Trussville Downtown Merchants Association (TDMA), a non-profit organization, whose mission is to create walking traffic in the downtown area.
TDMA plans to do this through co-op marketing within its members, promoting the vitality of the downtown business district through economic progress and development.
TDMA’s first event is a downtown block party, set for August 13 from 5-8 p.m. There will be live entertainment, food trucks, antique cars and individual events at many storefront locations. The event is family friendly, and the entire community is encouraged to attend.
Food trucks that will be featured include Off the Hook, Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Bendy’s Cookies and Cream, Greg’s Hot Dogs and Pop’s Cool Spot.
“Trussville has for some time been in need of a downtown merchants association,” Greg Carroll, President of TDMA, said. “By working with all of the stakeholders in the area, we are committed to seeing the downtown district grow and prosper to serve the next generations of Trussville residents.”
TDMA is currently accepting membership applications, as well as sponsorships for those willing to support its mission.
Membership information can be obtained by contacting Greg Carroll at Greg.Carroll6632@gmail.com, or on Facebook by searching Trussville Downtown.
