TRUSSVILLE – Trussville now boasts a new title: one of the most successful cities in Alabama.
Zippia put out a survey listing Trussville as the fourth most successful city in Alabama, surrounded by other cities like Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills and Chelsea.
The list was determined using 2010-2014 American Community Surveys that took factors like poverty level, median household income and unemployment rate into consideration.
Zippia said median household income is the most digestible way to understand how wealthy a city is, unemployment rate attempts to capture the prospects for more people to become rich, and finally, if more people are employed, there is a brighter and more successful future ahead for that city.
Data was collected for 105 cities in Alabama with a population of more than 5,000, and then each city was ranked with the number one spot being the most successful city.
According to Zippia, Trussville has a population of 20,229, the median income is $86,518, the poverty level is 6 percent and the unemployment rate is 5.5 percent.
