Carol Foster announces run for Clay Council place 4

CLAY – Carol Foster has announced her second run for public office, as a candiate for place 4 on the Clay City Council.

“I am running for this position because I believe that our city has not maximized its potential and moved forward to become a greater place for its residents,” Foster said. “Since moving to Clay 10 years ago, my passion and support for this City is unwavering. I am committed to working with and for the people and businesses of Clay.”

Foster is a former member of the Clay Personnel Board, Board of Zoning and Adjustment, Finance Committee, School Committee and Friends of the Library. Foster also volunteers, is a member of the Chamber of commerce and is a Clay business owner.

“If elected, I will restore accountability to Clay by reinstituting boards and committees that have been disbanded, including a citizen financial committee which would allow greater transparency between elected officials and residents,” Foster said in a press release.

Foster said she will also put an emphasis on accountability, open door policies, public safety, starting a police and community forum to address citizen concerns, support business owners by building an infrastructure to solicit big tax based businesses to the city for job structure, supporting schools and securing state and federal funding that the city needs “to move forward.”

Foster worked in Social Security Administration for 40 years, before retiring in January of 2008.

“I will use my knowledge, skills, and abilities in management, administration and human resources to contribute to the success and efficient functioning of the City of Clay,” Foster said.

Foster is a member of The Worship Center Christian Church. She has two sons, Fred and John.
