PINSON – Brad Walker announced his candidacy for place 2 on the Pinson City Council on Tuesday.
Walker said his primary focus is going to be economic growth in the community, support of local schools to promote and provide opportunities for educational growth, public safety and a revitalization of Main Street.
“I believe it is time to encourage new companies to locate in Pinson not only to promote our economic growth but to provide Pinson residents access to local resources to conduct their daily business and more importantly, create local jobs for our citizens,” Walker said in a press release.
Walker also said he believes in the quality and value of a good education.
“We have excellent schools here in Pinson and I believe it is our duty as a community to provide the very best educational opportunities to our children. Our children are our future and we should ensure that they are prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow,” Walker said.
Walker is a network engineer with Spire Energy (formerly Alagasco) and a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran.
Walker, his wife Jennifer and daughter Jordan have lived in Pinson for 20 years. The family supports local youth and school sports programs, and Walker coaches his daughter’s travel softball team. The family are active members at First Baptist Church Pinson, where Walker teaches an adult Sunday School class.
