BREMAN — A single vehicle crash on Saturday has claimed the life of a teenager and injured another.

Whitney Renee Cotton, 17 of Cullman, was killed when the 2005 Mitsubishi Gallant she was a passenger in left the roadway and struck a tree. Cotton was not using a seatbelt, so she was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene.
The vehicle’s driver, Anna McKenzie Hughes, 17 of Vinemont, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The crash occurred at 10:45 p.m. on Cullman County 25, five miles west of Breman.
State Troopers are continuing to investigate.
