Re-Elect Eugene “Gene” Melton for Mayor of Trussville
Trussville Tribune Political Profile
Eugene “Gene” Melton has served as the Mayor of Trussville for 20 years. He is incredibly humble in many things, except the excellence that is his hometown, Trussville, AL.
Mayor Melton’s vision for Trussville, now and in the future, is to make it the “best place in Alabama to live and raise a family”.
“That was my vision when I was first elected, and it is still the vision I am working toward today. I have done my very best to create an economic engine to fund our residential growth; expand our parks and our green space; protect the Cahaba River and its basin; develop a Master Road Plan to relieve our local traffic congestion; expand our library; provide a top notch civic center; maintain a robust senior citizen activity center; create a “First Class City School System”; provide strong police and fire departments; protect the downtown from future flooding and upgrade infrastructure and roads. I will continue to do everything within my power to use every taxpayer dollar wisely, keep the City financially strong, and promote controlled and responsible growth in order to provide and maintain a high level of quality life for all current and future residents.”
