Founded in 1977 our nine attorneys have a combined 167 years of legal experience.
We provide legal services for our clients throughout the State of Alabama. Oftentimes prospective believe we are only a local law firm. While many of our clients are local, we regularly represent clients all over Alabama as well as other states in the Southeast.

Massey, Stotser & Nichols, P.C. is a general practice law firm offering a wide variety of services. We represent business clients from formation of a new business to transactions, collections and litigation. We also represent individual clients in many different areas such as personal injury, domestic relations, estate planning, contracts, probate, and general litigation.
Attorneys
Our motivation as attorneys is to assist our clients with whatever their legal needs may be. We have chosen to have a general practice firm so that we can provide representation to clients on a recurring basis.
All of our attorneys are licensed to practice law in all courts throughout the State of Alabama. In addition to a law degree all Massey, Stotser, & Nichols, P.C. attorneys attend continuing education classes each year related to their practice areas. Our attorneys are also involved in various community organizations and charities. Additionally, one of our attorneys, Kristin Sullivan, holds a Master of Laws in Taxation degree which allows her to represent clients in tax planning and also those facing tax related issues.
Our firm is comprised of seven partners and two associates. Our partners are Garrick L. Stotser, Randall W. Nichols, Anne Lamkin Durward, Richard A. Bearden, Stephanie Lanier Weems, Chesley P. A: Most prospective clients are concerned with how long a certain legal process will take and the fees that will be involved. We consistently communicate with the client about these issues during the early stages of our representation so the client is comfortable, knowledgeable, and can make informed decisions.

A: That is a great question. Working with our clients, rather than for our clients, is key to effective representation regardless of firm size. We strive to intimately understand our clients and their needs. Clients have family and work obligations during normal business hours and we try to accommodate those busy schedules. We also strive to maintain regular and clear communication with the client so that the client remains involved and informed in the entirety of the legal process.
Q: Do you offer free consultations?
A: Yes, depending on the type of case. Each case is different in terms of how legal fees are paid but the client can find out before an initial consultation so he/she knows what to expect.
