TRUSSVILLE – The 4th annual Cahaba River Shrimp Boil will take place April 30 from 4-9:30 p.m. at Trussville Springs on Highway 11.
The event, benefiting the Hewitt-Trussville Student-Athlete Foundation and the Trussville City Schools Foundation will be filled with food, live music and activities for children.
The event equally benefits both organizations. The 2015 event raised $14,000 collectively.
Music performances will include Reunion Country and Southern Rock Band, Jackson Capps, sideCar, II Da Maxx and DJ Austin Jones.
The kids activity area will include backyard favorites like cornhole, and face painting.
Although the event is known for its low country boil, barbecue, hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages will be available for purchase as well.
“The Cahaba River Shrimp Boil committee is ready to bring the vest event yet,” said Cahaba River Shrimp Boil Chairman Chris Horn. “Last year’s rainy week leading up to the event didn’t prevent us from having a great time and the crew is determined more than ever to provide Trussville and the surrounding communities with a great outdoor food and music festival, You just can’t beat being outside, listening to great music and the smell of shrimp boiling and barbecue. Then, off in the kids’ zone you have the sound of laughter. It’s a great time and place to be with friends and neighbors.”
Admission to the festival is free.
