Both Pinson Valley and Clay-Chalkville have launched a bowling team this season and the two neighboring programs enjoyed wins on Monday night in separate matches. The Hewitt-Trussville girls team also took home a 5-2 win over Vestavia to improve to 5-0 on the season.
The Cougars took a 7-0 win over Mountain Brook and Pinson Valley went through Shades Valley by a 6-1 final. Clay-Chalkville coach, Stuart Floyd, took to Twitter to announce the program’s first win.
“Clay-Chalkville boys bowling shuts out Mountain Brook 7-0 in its first-ever match,” posted Floyd.
Overall, Floyd’s team dominated the Spartans 1,125 pins to 796. Travis Smith Skinner led the Cougars’ charge with a 207 and Josh Quinn bowled a 195.
For Pinson Valley, it was Jared Evans leading the way to a win over Shades Valley. Evans bowled a 180 while Turner Shankels went for 168 to push the Indians to an overall 1,059-837 win to start the week.
Also for Pinson Valley, Marshal Tanner turned in a 158, James Hampton went for a 145 and Jody Graves finished the night with a 98.
The Indians get back to game action on Wednesday evening against Gardendale at Super Bowl in Pinson. The match is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Hewitt-Trussville will do battle with the Cougars next Monday (Dec. 14) at Spare Time in Trussville. That match is also scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
