This Saturday, July 18, the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve in Pinson will be hosting its 6th annual Float Your Boat Summer Festival. Nestled on the banks of one of the most popular swimming holes in the state and featuring the spectacular Turkey Creek Falls, this fun-filled event will include activities for the entire family, including balsa wood boat races, the City of Pinson’s “Beat The Heat” ice cream give-away, a climbing wall, a classic car showcase, craft vendors, music and an exciting fun zone for the kids.
Last year’s festival was the biggest ever, with over 1,200 people in attendance. This year promises to be even bigger, with more games, foods, and fun for the entire family. The festivities are scheduled to kick off with at 11 a.m., with the boat races starting at 1 p.m.
Proceeds from the event benefit TCNP’s environmental education and youth outreach programs, which reaches over 10,000 students annually.
