CLAY — Clay-Chalkville is ranked No. 2 in Class 6A again this week in the Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings.
Spanish Fort is No. 1 in Class 6A. Spanish Fort garnered 28 first-place votes and Clay-Chalkville earned two.
The rest of the Class 6A top 10, in order, are Shades Valley, Opelika, Carver-Montgomery, Blount, Muscle Shoals, Florence, Daphne and Saraland.
There was a bit of a shakeup in the Class 7A top 10. Hoover is no longer No. 1, after losses to Miami (Fla.) Central and Colquitt (Ga.) County. Bob Jones is now No. 1 in Class 7A, earning 21 first-place votes. Hoover is No. 2 with eight first-place votes. The rest of the Class 7A top 10, in order, are McGill-Toolen, Spain Park, Central-Phenix City, Vestavia Hills, Fairhope, Gadsden City, Foley and Prattville.
Neither Hewitt-Trussville nor Pinson Valley garnered a vote for top 10 consideration in Class 7A or Class 6A, respectively.
