JEFFERSON COUNTY — Two former area high school baseball standouts are signing to play at Auburn University in Montgomery.
Second baseman Cody Rush, who played at Clay-Chalkville, and Kaleb Harris, a former Pinson Valley catcher, are heading to Auburn University in Montgomery.
Rush played at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa for two seasons. He started at second base in 48 of 53 games his sophomore season. Rush batted .271 with 15 runs batted in.
Harris signed with Lawson State Community College out of high school, playing there one season before transferring to Alabama-Southern Community College for his sophomore year.
