CLAY — City of Clay Administrative Assistant Andrea Self said the first day of car tag renewal at Clay City Hall on Monday went “extremely well.”
Self said employees were a “little nervous” because it was the first day and there are always nerves with something new, regardless of training.
“But most everyone who came in commented about how convenient it was to have tag renewals at city hall,” Self said.
Self said eight transactions were processed Monday, and they averaged less than 10 minutes per transaction, a number the city hopes to make better.
“There was a lot of interest from people in neighboring cities and the unincorporated areas near us, too,” she said.
Online tag sales for Clay residents will also be processed at Clay City Hall and will generally arrive at the customer’s home a day or two after being ordered.
A $5 fee will be applied to any tags renewed at Clay City Hall.
