TRUSSVILLE — When the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce staged its first bridal show in 2012, nobody was sure how well it would go over. After all, no bridal show of its size had ever taken place in Trussville before, so no real precedent had been set for the kind of response it might receive.
But go over, it did. Brides from all over the Birmingham metro area were pleased to see the variety of vendors available to help plan the perfect wedding, and the vendors were just as pleased to be seen. So when one successful show was followed by a second in 2013, its organizers decided to make the Trussville Bridal Show part of the chamber’s 2014 lineup, too.

“We see it as a great opportunity to help event-related businesses promote themselves and for the chamber to possibly gain some new members, too,” said TACC Executive Director Diane Poole. “But we also give busy brides a break by bringing together a host of wedding resources in one place. In fact, our catchphrase is ‘Plan your dream wedding in one day.’”
The third annual Trussville Bridal Show is Sunday, Aug. 10 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Trussville Civic Center. Admission is $5, but with one paid guest, brides are admitted free.
“So far, we have florists, bakeries, photographers, hairstylists, travel planners and a number of other vendors signed up for the show,” Poole said. “We’ll also have a fashion show, but the models won’t be walking a traditional runway. Instead they’ll be mingling with the crowd so our guests can get a close-up view of the styles, fabrics and colors of the wedding wear.”
