TRUSSVILLE — The travel restriction imposed on The Basement founder and youth evangelist Matt Pitt as part of a bond condition has been lifted, according to one of his attorneys.
Brian Ritchey said the agreement between attorney Carmella Penn and the district attorney was dated June 6.
Pitt has often traveled for his job as a youth minister.
Pitt still faces a charge of impersonating a peace officer in Jefferson County in connection to an incident from June 2013 in Grayson Valley. The Jefferson County charge was ruled a violation of the youth minister’s probation from a previous conviction of attempting to impersonate a peace officer in Shelby County.
He spent eight months in Shelby County Jail and was released on Palm Sunday.
